If your Wordtune subscription does not show your Premium status correctly, the issue may stem from account recognition errors or payment processing issues. This guide explains common causes and offers solutions to resolve them.
☝🏼 Make sure you are logged into the correct account. Go to your account page and you will see your email address under your Wordtune profile image. If you used a different email during purchase than the one logged in now, this mismatch might cause issues. For Apple users, check your relay email address generated by Apple’s 'Hide My Email' feature for subscription recognition errors.
Note: If you subscribed via Apple App Store and used 'Hide My Email,' ensure you check for relay email addresses ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com or @icloud.com. These may prevent recognition of your Premium subscription. Visit your Apple ID (or System Settings for iPhones/iPads) to locate the appropriate relay email.
Apple 'Hide My Email' Troubleshooting Steps
If you suspect your issue is related to Apple's 'Hide My Email,' identify the associated relay email:
Go to Apple ID website and log in.
Select
Sign-In and Securityunder your name.Navigate to
Sign in with Appleand look underHide My Email.Alternatively, on your Apple device:Open
System Settings(on Mac) orSettings(iPhone/iPad).Click your name and navigate to
iCloud>Hide My Email.
Payment Method Verification
Verify that the payment method on file is valid and updated.
Allow up to two weeks for retries (charges attempted every two days) during which premium features will remain active.
Ensure you are logging in using the same method as the one used during signup.
Log out and log back in again (Even if you were logged into the correct email address - it refreshes the account).
Additionally, if payment processing issues are causing delays, Wordtune provides premium access during the retry period (up to two weeks, with a charge attempt every two days), so be sure you are logging in with the correct method (e.g., Google Authentication, Email, etc.). If the final payment fails after two weeks, your access will revert to Basic. Ensure there are sufficient funds in your payment account to avoid interruptions.
If you still see your account as free, it's a local issue. That means it's something you can fix on your own! Uninstall the Wordtune extension, clear your cookies, and reinstall the extension once that's done. Ensure that your payment information is updated and correct to avoid interruptions in premium features. To guarantee all local changes take effect, restart your device after clearing cookies and reinstalling.
Note that you can still clear your cookies even if you didn't have the extension/app
